When I connect to my Laptop, the Icons are moving to other positions while I am connected.

How can I change that?

Hi @yodamaster445,
You mean, the desktop icons was moved to the spacedesk displays?
Could you please check, if the spacedesk display was automatically switched as primary/main display?
You can check it on display settings window, select/click the spacedesk display then scroll down and check if the "Make this my main display" check box was checked.

No, the Icons remain on my main display. But they change their position.

Hi @yodamaster445,
Can you maybe send us the screenshot of the difference?
Just attach the image/s on your next reply.

I also have a moving icon issue when using MSFS 2020 flight sim.

I have my main display's icons customized to my liking. I use Spacedesk on my secondary screen which is an Android tablet.

When I finish flying and close down both the sim and the tab Spacedesk, I find that my desktop icon layout has defaulted to the standard grid pattern, meaning I have to rearange them all again.

I have just updated Spacedesk and am wondering if that's the problem? Previously, if I turned off the tablet connection BEFORE closing down the sim, then the issue did not occur. Unfortunatly this is not the case now.

Any ideas?

Hi @yodamaster445,
Thanks for sending the screenshots.
This is actually a Windows behavior.
Even if you connect an external monitor (not spacedesk) it will probably also happen.
You can find several articles on the web with the same issue after connecting another display. (e.g. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/desktop-icons-re-arrange-when-connecting-external/d9943ae2-a0a5-4d12-8684-e85dd713be05)

Maybe you can try this workaround:
- make sure that on right-click -> View -> Auto arrange icons on your primary machine is unchecked
- connect the spacedesk display
- in this case, the icons will rearrange, then manually arrange it according to your desired position (when there's no spacedesk display)
- try to disconnect-reconnect spacedesk then the icons positions should be the same now as before (when there's no spacedesk display connected).
