Using an ereader as secondary display - question on a resolution issue

I'm planning to buy an eink reader: Onyx Boox Max 3 with 2200*1650 resolution.
Unfortunately, I was told that my notebook ( Acer Aspire E5 571G 560y) can support a maximum of 1920x1080 at 60Hz output by the HDMI port. ( Despite the fact that it has Intel 5500 discrete GPU and a dedicated GeForce 840M, both of which are technically (!) capable of 4K and above.)

Do you think that Spacedesk could be a solution for me? Can I bypass those limitations of resolution mentioned above?

Thank you!

Hi @szlvszl,
spacedesk supports 4k resolutions - or bigger and your graphics adapter is capable of it.
Do you intend to use spacedesk as extension or mirror display?

Thank you, Lea!

Hope that Acer did not restrict this higher resolution in case of my device (with a software)..  (As they did in case of the HDMI of the same notebook).

I just saw a video on extension mode.

Do you have a suggestion on which is better, or just asking?

Thank you!
