Is spacedesk connected over wireless network?
Maybe you can try wired or wifi direct connection between your primary and secondary machine.

Uh right now I believe it is wireless. But i have a usb connected to it is there a way to turn on wired? Thanks ill check the guide as well

If your iPad supports USB tethering, you can try to connect spacedesk using the USB tethering network between your primary machine and iPad.
Please check the instructions on how to setup USB tethering in our user manual.

@spacedesklea it says turn on cellular data on the ios device but my device does not have that

I see.. so your iPad does not support USB tethering.
The only thing you can try is the WiFi Direct connection.
