hi

I could not detect any client.

My computer(Server) is Win10

The server version is 0.9.51

I used my Mobile devices as the secondary monitor.
I have checked the USER MANUAL  but still not able to seek for the right solution.

Noted that I am using NordVPN as well

Hi @crazykitxd,
Current spacedesk has a known limitation with VPN. If it's enabled there's a possibility that the network discovery of spacedesk will not work.

Did you already check the Troubleshooting - Network Connection - VPN chapter in our user manual?
https://spacedesk.net/user-manual/##vpn-issue

If the suggested workaround on the manual, did not help the only option was to disable the VPN before trying to use the spacedesk.
Or did you already tried disabling your VPN, and still unable to discover the primary machine?

Hi @spacedesk Lea

Yes I have checked the troubleahooting for the VPN, and it seems not quite working to me!

And so, I have disabled the VPN connection, seems it does not work neither!

Hi @crazykitxd,
What is your spacedesk viewer type? Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5?

Hi @crazykitxd,

Is this the first time you try spacedesk?
Are both machines connected on the same local area network? Is it a wireless network?

Can you try to ping the IP address of your secondary machine from your primary machine and vice versa?
To check if both machines are reachable to each other.

Can you maybe check your wireless router settings? Maybe your wireless router has client isolation enabled?
With this settings, it will prevent direct communication between connected devices/machines.

Hello @spacedesklea,

It is my first time trying Spacedesk, I have never used any similar software before.
Both of them are connected to the same LAN, and yes, it is a Wireless network.

I did try to type in the IP Address from the Primary machine, and still not found.
I tried switching the host, and still, they are not connected.

As for the router setting, I am not quite sure if it enabled client isolation.
I guess I keep it in default setting.

Did you try the ping test?
Just run Command Prompt and ping the IP address of secondary machine e.g. ping 192.168.1.25.
Try it on both sides and check if it's reachable to each other.

Hi @crazykitxd,
You can find the IP address of your mobile device on the wifi settings.
Please check the screenshot attached, it shows the IP address on my android phone.

Hi @crazykitxd,
If ping test failed, it means primary machine and secondary device are not reachable to each other. This is probably a network settings problem on your side (either on primary or secondary machine).
Are you sure that both machines are connected on the same local area network?
Did you check your router settings if client isolation is enabled?

Can you quickly try USB tethering connection instead of wifi?
For assistance, just follow the instruction in our user manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual/##usb-tethering.

hi @spacedesklea

I am sure both Primary and Secondary Machines are connected to the same LAN
I checked my router settings, and seems the "client isolation" function does not exist. Maybe it used another term or else.
Also, just tried USB tethering and it does not work to me

maybe.. Can you check if there's any of the following:
AP Isolation / Wireless Isolation / SSID Isolation?

why? Is it not supported?

Could you also please check your current Network Profile on your Windows 10 machine. Just run a Windows PowerShell then type the command: "Get-NetConnectionProfile"
check if the Network category shows Public or Private.

hi @spacedesklea

I failed to connect to the router setting on PC. Meanwhile, I am able to connect the router setting on mobile devices.

I guess there is some problem with it.

By the way, I ran the command on Windows PowerShell, and it returns the "Public" Statment

As for the USB tethering, my devices support it.

What I meant is, while activated it seems nothing changes, and still not detectable to the secondary machine
