Connecting Windows 10 to Ipad Pro

Hi,

I have removed and redownloaded the IOS app. My Ipad Pro still "Cannot detect Server!"

Manually adding the IP displayed on my primary machine doesn't seem to validate.

HTML 5 doesn't find the machine.

I run Mcafee and someimes a VPN.

Please let me know what else to try.

IOS System is 14.4.2 and my system wants to upgrade to 14.6

Hi @eldoctore,

Please make sure that spacedesk or C:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe is included in the exception list of your McAfee firewall settings to allow incoming and outgoing connection over (Public/Private) network.
Please also make sure that your VPN is deactivated before using spacedesk.

Dear Lea,

I share the same issue with eldoctore. I want to ask weather Spacedesk supports iPad Pro? I tried both iPad and iPhone with Spacedesk and I got successful connection with my iphone but the iPad Pro does not even ask for the permission to access wireless data after installation.

Here are the specs of my devices:

iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen. 2018 version)
Laptop: Windows 10 Pro, Version 21H1, OS build 19043.985
iPad Pro: Software version 14.6
Laptop Spacedesk drvier version: 0.9.99
iPad Spacedesk version: 1.0.39

Hope to hear your update.

Mason

Hi @mason_wang,
Can you quickly check if you can connect via HTML5 viewer on your iPad?
Just open a web browser (e.g. Safari or Google Chrome), go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to the IP address of your primary machine.

Hi @mason_wang,
Thanks for verifying.

By the way, does your primary machine's computer name not in English characters?
There's this one case, if the computer name is not in English characters, the iOS viewer app was unable to discover it.
This was observed by one of spacedesk user, so I just want to confirm if it's the same case on your side.
You can check it here: https://forum.spacedesk.ph/community/postid/7861/

Dear Lea,

My primary machine is set to English. I think the setting on my PC is correct since I can connect my iphone to my PC, while my iPad cannot detect the presence of PC with the same configuration.

Lea, can you kindly confirm if the iPad Pro 3rd generation 2018 version is compatible with Spacedesk? Because with the same Spacedesk IOS version, the iPad did not ask for permission to connect wireless date after installation and I cannot find the Spacedesk on the iPad's IOS settings page, which will definitely cause the problem when detecting other devices under the same WIFI.

Hi @mason_wang,

Yes, any iPad device is compatible with spacedesk as long as iOS version is above 9.3.
I thinks this is the known discovery issue that we still have on our iOS viewer app where sometimes it cannot discover the primary machine.
We have several users with the same discovery issue.
Currently, this is not yet fixed.

the iPad did not ask for permission to connect wireless date after installation

Does this happen on your iPhone where spacedesk worked?
Can you maybe send us the screenshot of this permission message?

Hi @mason_wang,
can you maybe try to uninstall the spacedesk on your iPad then restart your iPad and try to reinstall the spacedesk.

Can you maybe send us the screenshot of this permission message?

No need, I was able to reproduce this message and if I select "Don't Allow", I have the same discovery problem.

Dear Lea,

(Screenshots in the attach file)

I need to update my statement. My iPad Pro asked for permission to access the wireless data, but it seemed that even I clicked OK as shown in screenshot-1, there is not Apps info on the IOS setttings pages as my iphone(Screenshot 2).

Feel free to contact me if you need further info.

Mason

Dear Lea,

(Screenshot for Local Network in the attach file)

The Privacy setting for Spacedesk is automatically ON as shown in the attachment.

I tried to uninstall, restart and reinstall to get this screenshot.

Ok thanks for checking.
This is definitely the same known discovery issue in our iOS viewer app which we don't have a fix at the moment.
I will follow up this issue with our developer.
