I've installed both viewer and server spacedesk however I'm unable to find the primary machine

Primary machine (PC) specs:

Windows 10

Version of spacedesk: Beta 0.9.34

AMD Graphics

Intel CPU

Wired Ethernet connection

Secondary machine (laptop) specs:

Windows 10

Version of spacedesk: Beta 0.9.22

Intel CPU

Nvidia Graphics

Wireless connection (Wi-Fi)

I tried manually connection with IP address and hostname with no success.

Could you help me solve the issue?

Thanks in advice

Hi @joshuah,
Are both primary and secondary machine connected on the same local area network?
Do you have a third-party firewall software or antivirus (with own firewall) installed on both machines?
If yes, can you tell us the software name.
Or do you have VPN (Virtual Private Network) currently active?
For assistance, please also check the Troubleshooting Network Connection chapter in user manual.

Yes, both primary and secondary machine are connected to same router

No I don't have additional firewall or antivirus on neither machine

I do not have any VPN service.

I couldn't find any network isolation setting in the router's setting page.

Could you please check the following:
1. Can you try to ping the IP address of your primary machine from your secondary machine and vice versa and check if it will receive a reply.
2. On your primary machine, run "services.msc" find spacedeskService and check if it's running.
If it's running, please click the spacedesk tray icon in the notification area on your task bar to open the spacedesk SERVER window and check if server shows status ON.
If it's ON, please right-click the menu button "..." and switch OFF then ON again.
Check if the viewer app will discover it now.
Maybe also send us the screenshot of the spacedesk SERVER window.
Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi @spacedesklea

I'm unable to ping either from Primary -> secondary or secondary -> primary machine. It says "Request timed out".

I also noticed I have different default gateways. Is that a problem? One is 192.168.0.1 (Secondary machine) and 192.168.1.1 (Primary machine). Subnet mask is the same - 255.255.255.0

Also on Primary machine i have Connection-specific DNS Suffix: domain, and on secondary machine I don't have anything there.

If both have different default gateways, it means both machine are connected on two different network then spacedesk viewer won't be able to discover the server.
If you have an extra LAN cable, you can connect your laptop/secondary machine on wired network same as the primary machine.
